LE LOGIS within 2 kms of MARCIAC a fully equipped 3 bedroom cottage in the grounds of the owners home,

La Tuquette. Le Logis, a non-smoking environment, comprises a good size open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area, utility room with automatic washing machine, iron and board, central heating boiler; downstairs WC.  The fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave. A wooden staircase provides access to another small sitting area with a second settee and two armchairs, TV and DVD player.  The main bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed, the second with a double bed and the third with two single beds. The bathroom provides an additional wc, washbasin, bidet and shower over the bath. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. Garden furniture includes a table with sunshade, chairs and loungers.The grounds comprise a large garden with various trees and a 10 x 5 metre swimming pool.  Set in open countryside, Le Logis provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of cities whilst being within 3 minutes by car of  boulangeries, bank, pharmacy and post office.  English papers are normally available in Marciac within 24 hrs.

Local facilities. Beautiful Marciac lake overlooked by rows of Saint Mont vines has a wonderful partly shaded circular walk which takes about 45 mins at a slow pace.  At the side of the lake is a heated open air leisure pool with flumes which operates at the height of summer. The Chateau de Pallanne 10 mins from Marciac has a very under utilised golf course with glorious views of the Pyrenees. In August the world famous Marciac Jazz Festival is held. The area is of interest to those who fish, walk, hike and ski. Serious walkers/pilgrims cross the department whilst walking the Route de Santiago de Compostela.

The festival which takes place during the first two weeks of August each year transforms Marciac into a veritable music fest.  The market square hosts a stage under beautiful sails the colour of which changes each festival. Different artists perform from 11am until around 7.30pm every hour every day, every concert free.  In the evening the huge marquee erected on the rugby pitch on the outskirts of the village which seats 5,000, fills with music lovers who have booked their tickets from the moment they go on sale early in the year.  Restaurants spring up in every possible location, all constructed during the few days before the festival begins. The whole atmosphere buzzes with joy and delight. The wonderful coastal town of Biarritz is 2hr 15mn away, Pau 1hr 15mn, Toulouse 1hr 45mn, Lourdes 50mn.  A day trip to the Pic du Midi, the highest point in the French Pyrenees for breathtaking views. (1hr 30mn to the cable car at La Mongie for the ascent)  Travel across the border into Spain for lunch at a paradore in Vielha.  We are 1hr 30mn from the ski slopes at Cauterets.
